This question analyses the students’ knowledge in Emerging Software Testing Strategies and current
trends.
Due to the fastest growth of mobile application downloads and use in the current technological world software
testing industry has become an ever growing industry with exceptional change. Software engineers specialized in
testing or the test engineers are still finding difficulty to cope up with the latest changes and new products. New
technologies are overcoming and there is a need for shifting from existing technologies and these day by day
changes have become a challenge to the testers.
Based on the above mentioned fact about challenges in software testing; briefly list and discuss any 5
“Emerging Trends in Software Testing” which will support for the next decade.
Students are required to follow the instructions given at the beginning to answer this question.

Question 2 15 Marks
This question analyses the students’ knowledge and understanding in analyzing given scenario to build
activity diagrams studied in Unit-3 of the module

Use the below given scenario to answer questions 2.1 to 2.3
A training center arranges training courses for employees of its partner institutions. Each participant employee
can register for training courses in different time slots according to the schedules prepared by the training
institute. The training institute gives options to select the time slot morning or evening according to the
employees’ convenience.
When registering for a course the employee is expected to prepare all required documents and then submit those
documents along with the application to the Training Institute staff. The employee will receive the course
schedule. Once finished with one employee, the Training Institute staff will prepare the course registration
procedures for the next employee. The minimum attendance of the courses is 5 sessions and the maximum is 8
sessions. If the employee failed to attend at least 5 sessions they have to repeat the course.

Question 3 15 Marks
This question analyses the students’ knowledge and understanding in analyzing given scenario to build
use case diagrams studied in Unit-2 and Unit-3 of the module
Given a scenario demonstrates the process of building a training Institute’s course online registration and
scheduling. Use the scenario to answer questions from 3.1 to 3.4
The Training Institute management has decided to develop a secure website to manage the course registration
and scheduling. The management expects the system to run in multiple platforms both web based and mobile
versions to satisfy their applicants. . The proposed training institute system is expected to handle at least 95%
of the applicants’ population to access the system from a web or mobile interface within 3 minutes. The
Academic Head of the Training Institute schedule the courses. The applicant completes an online form that
requests the applicant to input name, correspondence address, email and the subject area. The system
validates this data and, if correct, sends confirmation to the applicant. Then the applicant can login and
browses to find the required subject area to select the course. Applicants can register for many courses
according to the available slots. Courses are allocated to instructors for course delivery. They review after
login, the registered courses and select their courses based on their specialist area. Once the Academic Head
of the Training Institute has agreed the course schedules and instructor allocation the applicants will be
informed the final schedule by email.

This question analyses the students’ knowledge and understanding in analyzing given scenario to build
class diagrams studied in Units 3,4 and 5 of the module
Answer the given below questions 4.1 and 4.2 based on the following scenario
A music band has a system to keep track of band members, groups and its activities. The band has a unique
registration number and a description. The group is formed by several band members. There are two types of
band members in the music band, rock band and orchestra. Each group has a unique number, description and a
date which the group has formed. The member details to be stored are membership identification number, name,
address, gender, birth date, type of member and band joining date. The band forms groups for organizing different
musical programs. A group controls and organizes a number of musical programs, each of which has a unique
number and description of the program. A musical program may consist of several musical events. A musical event
has event ID and description of the event. The group may print and publishes many advertisements brochures
about the activities and it need to be stored in the system. Advertisement brochure details are ID and a title of the
advertisement.
4.1 Identify the classes and their attributes in the above scenario

4.2 Draw a class diagram based on the given scenario; the diagram should include all classes in
the system, the relationship between classes, multiplicity specifications and any necessary
association names.

This question analyses the students’ knowledge in design by contract and interaction diagrams learned in unit-6
of the course material. To answer questions 5.1 and 5.2 , students can use course notes or e-library or external
resources

5.2 Based on the knowledge acquired about interaction diagrams, perform a comparison
study between sequence diagram and communication diagrams
